E’ CAMPIONE ITALIANO MX2 UNDER 21

La stagione di Alberto Forato sembrava essere terminata il 31 luglio di quest’anno dopo l’incidente in gara avvenuto sulla sabbia di Lommel. In quel frangente, il pilota dello Junior Team Assomotor, si è infortunato ad una spalla e si è dovuto operare con tempi di recupero lunghissimi. Bene, dopo più di due mesi, possiamo dire che Forato è tornato ed il titolo ITALIANO UNDER 21 conquistato questo fine settimana a Malpensa, è il coronamento di una buonissima stagione.

Alberto è giovane ed ha grossi margini di miglioramento su tutti i fronti. Se sistema “le partenze” non gli è precluso nessun risultato.

Per quanto riguarda le sue gare, in questo ultimo appuntamento dell’Italiano MX2, Forato ha effettuato un totale di quasi venti sorpassi e se consideriamo il livello dei suoi avversari, possiamo dire senza ombra di dubbio che Alberto è andato forte.

Il tempo realizzato nelle prove cronometrate, non gli ha permesso di prendere una buona posizione al cancello di partenza e lo START ne ha risentito. Forato transita infatti al primo giro 19esimo ma, come suo solito, inizia una rimonta che lo porta a tagliare il traguardo 11esimo.

Al secondo via, Alberto è 22esimo e, come in gara uno, effettua una bella rimonta e passa sotto la bandiera a scacchi 13esimo ma quel che più conta è il fatto che è CAMPIONE ITALIANO UNDER 21 della MX2.

“Devo dire che non mi aspettavo di avere un fine settimana così. Dopo l’infortunio di Lommel non ho potuto girare in moto per parecchio tempo ed avevo paura di non essere fisicamente a posto. Invece tutto è andato per il meglio. Non ho fatto buone partenze ma mi sono reso conto che avevo un buon ritmo e non mi sono perso d’animo. Alla fine sono riuscito a conquistare il titolo Under 21 di categoria e a fare secondo di giornata sempre nella Under 21. Ora le gare sono finite ma si riprendono gli allenamenti invernali in vista della prossima stagione”.

Per la conclusione della stagione 2016, lo Junior Team Assomotor ha organizzato nella serata di sabato un bellissimo PARTY al quale ha partecipato tutto il PADDOCK. Grande lo sforzo del Team che ha allestito sotto la propria Ospitality un buffet degno dei migliori PUB italiani.

ALBERTO FORATO IS MX2 UNDER 21 ITALIAN CHAMPION

Alberto Forato’s season seemed to be finished on the 31^st of July, after the crash on Lommel’s sand. In that occasion Junior Team Assomotor’s rider got injured at his shoulder and he had to have surgery with very long recovery time. Well, after more than two months, we can say that Forato is back and the winning of the UNDER 21 ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP was the cherry on the cake of a great season.

Alberto is young and he is plenty of room of improvement. If he fixes his “starts”, there wouldn’t be such a precluded  result.

About his races, in the last round of MX2 Italian Championship, Forato has almost made 20 overtakes, so if we consider the level of his opponents we could say with no doubts that he was fast.

The lap time made in Timed Practice didn’t allow him to take a good position at the starting gate, and the START was not that good. Forato was 19^th after the first lap but, as always, he began a vamp that brought him to pass the finish line in 11^th position.

At the second start Alberto was 22^nd and, as he did in Race 1, he moved up and finished the race in 13^th place but what really matters is that he won the MX2 UNDER 21 ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP.

“I have to say that I wouldn’t expect a weekend like this. After Lommel’s injury, I couldn’t ride my bike for a long time and I was afraid of not being in the best physical shape. Everything went perfect though. I didn’t make good starts but I realized that my race pace was good and I didn’t fall down. At the end I managed to win Under 21 title and to be second in Under 21 standings of the day. Races are now finished but I will start winter training looking forward the next season”.

For the ending of 2016 season Junior Team Assomotor organized a beautiful PARTY on Saturday night, where all the PADDOCK was invited. It was a big effort for the Team as they prepared, under their Ospitality, a buffet that could be easily compared to those which are made in the best ITALIAN PUBS.

Stop forzato per Alberto Forato

“Fate veloci che domenica devo correre l’ultima prova dell’Europeo in Svizzera”. Questa è stata la frase che Alberto Forato ha detto ai medici che si apprestavano ad operarlo per sistemargli la spalla destra infortunata domenica a Lommel.

E questo dimostra il carattere del giovane sedicenne. Un carattere che non molla mai, neanche in situazioni al limite, come domenica, in gara uno in Belgio, quando ha centrato un pilota cadutogli davanti ed ha fatto quasi tutta la manche con il manubrio storto, ma non ha pensato neanche un secondo a rientrare ai box.

Solo la caduta in gara due l’ha costretto allo stop per una forte contusione alla spalla destra. Sembrava fosse “solo” uno stiramento, ma dopo un attento esame fatto dalla Dottoressa Sangiorgi, è stato riscontrato un distaccamento della cartilagine dell’omero della spalla infortunata e la soluzione, per avere tempi brevi di recupero, è stata quella di intervenire con una operazione.

Tutto si è svolto nel migliore dei modi, ed ora si tratta solo di gestire al meglio il recupero che sarà di almeno un mese. La speranza è di vedere Alberto al via della penultima prova dell’Italiano, il 17 settembre a Ponte a Egola.

La pista di Lommel, che ha ospitato il decimo round dell’Europeo 250, è un mare di sabbia dove è necessario “galleggiare” ed avere una guida fluida e agile. E’ proprio un INFERNO e se non sei nativo dei Paesi Bassi, tutto diventa tremendamente difficile. Alberto Forato però, pur essendo italiano, ha le qualità giuste per i terreni soffici ed il quarto posto assoluto, a puri punti con il terzo ottenuto sulla sabbia di Mantova, ne è la conferma.

La giornata di sabato ha avuto due volti. Il primo è quello di un Alberto Forato che per soli 19 millesimi, non riesce a centrare la qualifica diretta (con lo stesso crono avrebbe ottenuto il quinto tempo nell’altro gruppo). Il secondo ci ha fatto vedere un Forato che vince di prepotenza la LAST CANGE con un vantaggio di undici secondi sul secondo classificato.

Con queste prerogative, si affrontano le due manche con ottimismo ma la sfortuna è dietro l’angolo. In gara uno mentre era in fase di recupero, trova un pilota per terra dietro ad una curva che non riesce ad evitare. La conseguenza è un vero e proprio “capottamento” con piegamento del manubrio, ma Alberto non demorde. Pur in condizioni al limite della guida, continua la sua gara e termina 30°. In gara due parte nei primi venti, effettua sorpassi strepitosi portandosi fino alla sedicesima piazza per poi attaccare altri tre piloti che lo precedevano nelle immediate vicinanze, ma, all’uscita di un salto, atterra la moto si intraversa e va a sbattere contro le transenne. Nella caduta si procura una leggera incrinatura alla spalla destra che sarà sottoposta ad una visita più approfondita al suo rientro in Italia. Da quella visita, si saprà se potrà essere presente domenica prossima in Svizzera per il Round di chiusura dell’Europeo 250 edizione 2016.

Lommel circuit, where the tenth round of 250 European Championship took place, looks like a “sandy sea”. It is necessary to “float” and have a smooth and agile ride. It feels like HELL, and if you are not a native it becomes tremendously hard. Alberto Forato, even though he is Italian, has the right skills for this kind of surface and it is confirmed by his final 4^th place after the 3^rd one of Mantova’s sand.

Saturday had two faces: the first one is the one where Alberto Forato didn’t get through the qualifying race for 19 thousandth of second only (with the same lap time he could have passed with the 5^th position in the other group). The second one showed Forato winning with arrogance the LAST CHANCE with a gap of 11 seconds to the second place.

With those prerogatives, the team was facing Sunday’s races with optimism but bad luck is always ready to show up when you are not waiting for it. In Race 1, while Alberto was recovering positions, he found a rider on the ground just behind a corner, so he couldn’t avoid him and he made a real somersault where his bike’s handlebars got broken. Forato didn’t give up though and he finished his race in 30^th place. In Race 2 he started in the TOP 20, he made amazing overtakes until he reached the 16^th position, he tried to attack three other riders that were just ahead of him but then, after a jump, his bike slided and he crashed into the barriers. He suffered a crack at his right shoulder and he is going to have to test it when he will be back in Italy. That test will show if he has the possibility to race in Switzerland on next weekend’s last round of 2016’s 250 European Championship.

ALBERTO FORATO E’ PRIMO NELLA UNDER 21

Più passa il tempo e più Alberto Forato prende consapevolezza delle sue possibilità. Anche a Cavallara, teatro della quinta prova del Campionato Italiano MX1/MX2, Forato ha messo in mostra una velocità e tempi sui giri notevoli. In tre manche Alberto ha fatto complessivamente ben 43 sorpassi, che dicono quanto sia stato veloce in questo fine settimana.

Dopo il quarto tempo ottenuto nelle prove cronometrate del sabato nel Gruppo 1 della MX2, Alberto affronta le gare della domenica molto determinato.

Al via di gara uno esce bene dal cancello di partenza ma si tocca con Cervellin ed entrambi devono chiudere il gas, con il risultato che al primo giro Alberto è solo 29°. Inizia quindi la sua prima rimonta e dopo circa trenta minuti di gara e ben 15 posizioni recuperate, Forato taglia il traguardo 14esimo.

Per quanto riguarda lo START di gara due, la musica non cambia. Buona uscita dal cancello ma contatti vari con altri piloti lo fanno retrocedere. Anche in questo caso Forato non si perde d’animo ed inizia a fare ottimi tempi sul giro che gli permettono di fare 18 sorpassi e chiudere sesto.

Nella SUPERCAMPIONE, Forato ottiene uno splendido 12esimo piazzamento finale mettendosi alle spalle parecchie moto più potenti della sua Honda CRF 250 R’16 e con i punti presi, vince la classifica di giornata della UNDER 21 ed accorcia sensibilmente il distacco dal primo che ora è di soli 53 punti.

“E’ stato un fine settimana positivo. Anche se non sono un amante delle piste dure, già dal sabato ho trovato delle buone linee che mi hanno permesso di fare il quarto tempo del mio gruppo ed il settimo nella generale MX2. In gara uno mi sono toccato in partenza ed alla prima curva ero praticamente ultimo. Ho cercato di recuperare ma poi sono caduto e ho fatto 14esimo.Gara due con il sesto posto è andata meglio mentre nella Supercampione sono scattato bene ma diverse MX1 mi hanno passato di motore. Sono comunque riuscito a fare un buon 12esimo posto ed a vincere la Under 21. Ora mi voglio allenare bene per la gara di fine mese che sarà sulla sabbia di Lommel”.

La prossima prova dell’Italiano MX1/MX2 sarà a Ponte a Egola il prossimo 18 settembre.

ALBERTO FORATO LED UNDER 21 STANDINGS

The more the time passes, the more Alberto Forato understands his possibilities. At Cavallara, where the fifth round of Italian MX1/MX2 Championship took place, Forato showed good speed and fast lap times. After three races he made 43 overtakes in total, just to understand how fast he was.

After the 4^th position obtained in Timed Practice in MX2 Group 1 on Saturday, Alberto faced the races with a lot of determination.

At the start of Race 1 he went out of the gate very well but he touched Cervellin and both of them had to close the throttle, so after the first lap Alberto was 29^th only. From there, he started his vamp and after 30 minutes of race and 15 positions recovered he passed the finish line in 14^th place.

About the START of Race 2, things went the same way of Race 1: he started well but after a few touches between riders he had to move to the back. Again, Forato didn’t give up and he started making such good lap times that allowed him to make 18 overtakes and to finish in 6^th place.

In “SUPERCAMPIONE” race, Forato finished in 12^th place, such a great result considering that more powerful bikes than his Honda CRF 250 R’16 stayed behind him. With the points that he gained he won the daily UNDER 21 standings and he shortened the gap between him and the leader (now 53 points divide them).

“It was a positive weekend. Even though I’m not a fan of hard surfaces, since Saturday I found good lines that allowed me to qualify in 4^th place in my group and 7^th in general MX2 standings. In Race 1 I made a contact with another rider at the start and after the first corner I practically was in last position. I tried to recover, I fell off and at the end I finished 14^th. Race 2, with the 6^th position, went better, while in “Supercampione” I started well but a lot of MX1 bikes overtook me just using their engines. However I managed to finish in 12^th position and that result made me winning the Under 21. Now I want to do some good training for the next race that will take place on Lommel’s sand”.

Next round of Italian MX1/MX2 Championship will take place at Ponte a Egola on September the 18^th.

EUROPEO EMX250 – ROUND LOMBARDIA

Strepitosa gara di Alberto Forato

Bravissimo, strepitoso, eccezionale. Questi sono solo alcuni degli aggettivi che si merita Alberto Forato per il risultato ottenuto a Mantova, sede del nono round del Campionato Europeo 250. Esulta Forato ma esulta anche tutto l’Assomotor Junior Team per un risultato che tutti sapevano essere alla portata del loro pilota. Da segnalare che mercoledì in allenamento Forato si è rotto una falange del pollice sinistro che ha fatto “tremare” tutti per la sua partecipazione o meno al GP di “casa”, invece dopo un consulto con la dottoressa Lorena Sangiorgi, viene rilasciato l’ok per disputare il GP ma con 1000 incognite sulla prestazione e soprattutto sulla durata fisica al dolore che si sarebbe scatenato disputando la gara. La scorsa settimana avevamo scritto che se Forato avesse migliorato le partenze, i risultati sarebbero arrivati: e così è stato. A fine giornata, Alberto ha conquistato un eccellente quarto posto finale a pari punti con il terzo classificato. Un solo piccolo punto in più e sarebbe stato un meritatissimo podio.

Con l’undicesimo tempo, Forato si qualifica direttamente senza ricorrere alla Last Chance e questo è già un buon inizio. In gara uno parte quinto e non molla un solo metro. Anzi, più passa il tempo e più Forato prende il ritmo giusto. Al settimo passaggio passa Meier, si butta subito all’inseguimento di Vaessen (in quel momento terzo) ma l’olandese è molto distante e l’aggancio non riesce. Forato chiude gara uno al quarto posto.

In gara due parte bene, ma qualche contatto con gli avversari, lo fa retrocedere in 13esima piazza. Da qui, inizia una forsennata e bellissima rimonta che gli permette di chiudere gara due al sesto posto, dopo ben sette sorpassi.

Nella somma delle due manche, Alberto conquista il quarto posto assoluto che vale ben 33 punti ed una grande dose di entusiasmo e fiducia per le prossime prove.

Per due settimane niente gare, l’ Assomotor Junior Team  tornerà in pista il 17 luglio per la quinta prova dell’Italiano MX2.

EMX250 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP – LOMBARDIA ROUND

Awesome race for Alberto Forato

Very good, awesome, outstanding. These are just a few adjectives that Alberto Forato deserves for the result that he made in Mantua, where the ninth round of EMX250 European Championship took place. Forato is as happy as the Assomotor Junior Team is, for a result that everybody was expecting as they knew how good the rider was.

We have to say that on Wednesday, during training, Alberto broke a phalanx of his left thumb, and that injury brought  some fear inside the team. Despite of that, after a consult with Dr. Lorena Sangiorgi, it was decided that the rider could participate at his “home” round, though the possible result was unknown as the weather was really hot too.

Last week it was said that if Alberto improved his starts, good results could have arrived for the Team, and it went like that. At the end of the race Alberto obtained an excellent final 4^th place, ex aequo with the 3^rd positioned rider. Just one point more and it could have been an awesome podium for him.

Forato qualified in 11^th place, so he didn’t have to go through the “Last Chance” race, and that was already good. In Race 1 he started well and he was 5^th, but during the race he got faster and confident: at lap 7 he overtook Meier, then he started chasing Vaessen (3^rd at that moment) but he couldn’t reach him. At the end of the race Forato was in 4^th position.

In Race 2 he started well again, but some contacts with the other riders made him moving back to the 13^th place. From there he started a great and beautiful recover that brought him to the 6^th position after seven overtakes.

Summing both races Alberto made a great final 4^th position and he gained 33 points other than a lot of confidence and good feelings for the next races.

The Championship will stop for two weeks now, so Assomotor Junior Team will be back on the circuits on the 17^th of July for the 5^th round of Italian MX2 Championship.

EUROPEO EMX250 – ROUND INGHILTERRA

Il tracciato di Matterley Basin nella Contea di Winchester, da tutti gli addetti ai lavori, è considerato uno dei più belli del “Circus” della MXGP. E’ molto largo, veloce e con parecchi salti molto spettacolari. Qui si è corso l’ottavo appuntamento dell’Europeo 250 e l’Assomotor Junior Team è stato presente con il sedicenne Alberto Forato.

Il primo obiettivo di Forato, era quello di riuscire a centrare la qualificazione diretta senza dover ricorrere alla Last Chance e con il tempo di 2:00.155, che ha significato la tredicesima posizione, l’obiettivo è stato centrato.

Lo start della prima manche di Forato non è uno dei migliori, al primo passaggio è 36esimo e su una pista così veloce che livella le prestazioni dei singoli piloti, rimontare è complicato. Alberto ci prova ma alla bandiera a scacchi non va oltre il 31esimo posto.

Partenza non buona e relativa rimonta in gara due che lo fa giungere al traguardo in 22esima posizione. Quello che dispiace è che il ritmo gara di Alberto è buono e il recupero di ben quindici posizioni nella seconda manche, significa che è veloce. Partire nelle prime posizioni è fondamentale, ed è proprio questo aspetto che Alberto deve assolutamente migliorare se vuole raccogliere quei risultati che sono alla sua portata.

Ora l’ Assomotor Junior Team rientrerà velocemente in Italia per poi trasferirsi sul circuito “Città di Mantova” per un altro round dell’Europeo 250.

EMX250 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP – ENGLAND GP

Matterley Basin circuit, in Winchester County, England, is considered by the insiders one of the most beautiful tracks of “MXGP Circus”. It’s wide, fast and it’s plenty of spectacular jumps. In there the 8^th round of 250 European Championship took place and Assomotor Junior Team deployed the 16 years old Alberto Forato.

The first target for him was to be able to get qualified without going through “Last Chance” race and he made it with 2:00.155 as lap time: that meant 13^th place on the starting grid.

The start of Race 1 wasn’t the best as after the first lap he passed in 36^th position, and considering that the fast circuit leveled up all riders’ performances was complicated to move up. Alberto tried it anyway but at the finishing line he was 31^st only.

In Race 2, bad start again, but Alberto moved up and recovered until the 22^nd final position. The regret is that Alberto’s race pace is really good and the 15 positions recover in Race 2 meant that he was really fast. Starting in the first places really matters so this aspect of his riding needs to improve: Alberto will work hard on that to let his speed collecting those good results that we are sure he can get.

Assomotor Junior Team will now fastly go back to Italy to transfer at “Città di Mantova” circuit, where next round of 250 European Championship will take place next weekend.

Alberto Forato, per ora il solo rappresentante dello Junior Team Assomotor, ha disputato due manche ottime dal punto di vista della velocità ma, nelle partenze, c’è ancora da lavorare.

Ma non è tutta colpa di Alberto perché il ragazzo è giovane (ha soltanto 16 anni), è alla sua prima stagione nell’Europeo e tante pista non le conosce, è alto più di un metro e novanta ma, soprattutto, è molto robusto fisicamente (85 chili di muscoli): una vera e propria potenza di muscoli. Ovvio che questa sua “stazza” fisica, per la sua “piccola” Honda CRF 250, lo penalizza non poco. Però Forato ha anche tanta determinazione e tanta grinta e le due grandi rimonte effettuate qui in Francia, ne sono la dimostrazione.

Lo start di gara uno non è bellissimo, anzi: lo scatto è molto buono, ma fuori dal cancello, proprio perché molto atletico, perde terreno e alla prima curva gira nelle ultime posizioni. Trentunesimo al primo passaggio sul traguardo, Forato inizia la sua prima grande rimonta. A metà gara ha già recuperato otto posizioni, nell’altra metà, cioè sotto la bandiera a scacchi, se ne riprende altre cinque e termina 18esimo assoluto e primo degli italiani.

Gara due fotocopia di gara uno. Partenza non brillante, ma questa volta il recupero è più difficile perché la pista è “poco bucata” e le prestazioni si livellano. Nonostante ciò, Alberto rimonta da 33esimo fino alla 22esima piazza, ad un soffio dalla zona punti.

Dopo la doppia trasferta Spagna/Francia, ora lo Junior Team Team Assomotor rientra in Italia. Nel prossimo fine settimana si andrà poi a San Severino per la quarta prova del Campionato Italiano MX1/MX2.

Great vamps for Alberto Forato

The seventh round of EMX250 European Championship took place in France, precisely on Saint Jean d’Angely  circuit, which was plenty of warm audience.

Alberto Forato, who is the only rep of Junior Team Assomotor at the moment, made excellent races from the point of view of the speed but he still needs to work on his starts.

It is not only Alberto’s fault: he is young (only 16 years old), it is his first season in European Championship and he doesn’t know a lot of circuits, he is also very tall (190 centimeters) and he weights 85 kilos. He has a lot muscles and power but of course his shape, for the “little” Honda CRF 250, penalizes him a lot. Anyway, Forato has a great grit and a lot of determination and he proved it with great vamps in both France races.

The start of Race 1 was not the best: he begun well but out of the gate he lost some speed and at the first corner he was in the back of the group. He was 31^st at the end of the first lap but then he started his vamp: at the middle of the race he moved up 8 positions already and in the next half of the race he recovered other five so at the end he finished 18^th and he was the first Italian in the standings.

Race 2 was the copy of the previous one. He didn’t have a brilliant start, but that time was harder to move up because the surface didn’t have ruts around and the performances were equalized. Despite of that, Alberto moved up from 33^rd to 22^nd, just out of the points area.

After being away in France and Spain, Junior Team Assomotor will go back to Italy. Next weekend it will go to San Severino (Italy) for the fourth round of MX1/MX2 Italian Championship.
