La stagione 2017 ha preso il via questo fine settimana sotto i riflettori della pista di Losail a Doha, in Qatar dove i piloti del team Honda RedMoto Assomotor erano desiderosi di schierarsi in sella della nuova Honda CRF 450 R
Correre su una pista di sabbia provvisoria appositamente costruita per l’occasione, significa che la superficie molto sconnessa che diventa sempre più segnata gara dopo gara, può mettere a dura prova il fisico dei piloti .
Alessandro Lupino ,riconfermato nella squadra anche per questa stagione, ha una buona partenza in gara 1 e riesce a conquistare la 14 ° posizione fino al traguardo .
In gara 2 con il tracciato diventato più impegnativo, Lupino riesce a partire bene in 12 posizione, ma un paio di piccole cadute lo retrocedono in 18 °posizione, continuando a combattere con Tanel Leok e Arnaud Tonus a fino alla bandiera a scacchi.
Valentin Guillod era anche lui è desideroso di fare il suo debutto con la squadra, dopo un mese di riposo forzato a causa di una caduta in America lo scorso inverno .

“Prima prova dura per la squadra sia per i meccanici che hanno corso contro il tempo per preparare e spedire le moto per i primi 4 gp e per i piloti che hanno appena concluso gli allenamenti invernali. Guillod purtroppo ha “accusato” lo stop forzato nei mesi precedenti per l’infortunio al braccio che lo ha costretto al ritiro in qatar ma buoni i tempi in gara e le partenze per cui sono certo che arriveranno anchenle soddisfazioni.
Lupino netto miglioramento rispetto agli anni precedenti e senza qualche errore commesso sarebbe sicuramente arrivato nella top ten.”

“Alessandro ha iniziato abbastanza bene in entrambe le gare di oggi e ha dimostrato una buona costanza per tutto il week-end sulla nuova CRF, che mostra un buon potenziale. Le condizioni non erano facili perché la sabbia è diventato molto dissestata e sconnessa , ma a parte un paio di piccoli incidenti in gara Lupino ha registrato un buon fine settimana. Le cose erano un po ‘più difficile per Valentin. Ha sofferto oggi con la mancanza di allenamento durante l’inverno a causa del suo infortunio, e questo si è visto purtroppo in entrambe le gare.

The 2017 MXGP season kicked off this weekend under the floodlights of the Losail track in Doha, Qatar, and Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s new rider line-up were eager to get behind the gate on their new Honda CRF450R.
Run on a specially-constructed sand track, the surface became more and more rutted and bumpy throughout the weekend, which meant that it was both very tricky and very physical for the riders. Alessandro Lupino continues with the team this season and enjoyed a strong start to the first race, launching into the top ten from the gate drop. As the dust settled on the fiercely competitive field, the Italian found himself in 14th position, where he remained until the finish in a consistent ride amid a very competitive field. By race two the track had become more challenging, and Lupino again started well into 12th, but suffered a couple of small crashes which demoted him to an eventual 18th, though the Italian kept fighting with Tanel Leok and Arnaud Tonus right up until the flag.
New signing Valentin Guillod was also eager to make his Grand Prix debut with the team after an off-season in which he suffered a crash in America which enforced one month of rest and no riding. This meant that he arrived in Qatar on the back foot, and he struggled a little with the physical demands of the track. In race one he found himself in 14th out of the gate, but slipped to 19th on the opening lap. With a pack just ahead of him he pushed to start regaining positions, but unfortunately was forced to pit in from 20th with five laps remaining. He encountered a similar story again in race two, when the combination of a sickness and physical exertion meant he had to retire early.
The next Grand Prix is the MXGP of Indonesia, held next weekend, 5 March, on the island venue of Pangkal Pinang.

“First round of 2017 world championship,it’s been a hard beginning for the mechanics,they work hard to make the flight case ready for the first 4 races of the season,and also for the riders after the winter training. Guillod he got injured in the winter so lost some training,and he is not so fit for all the motos,but he show a good speed and few strong starts..I’m sure that results will come soon.
Lupino he improve a lot respect last year,without some mistake he can finish on the top ten overall”

“Alessandro started pretty well in both races today and showed good consistency throughout the weekend on the new CRF, which we can see has a lot of potential. The conditions were not easy because the sand became very rutted and bumpy by the end, but apart from a couple of small crashes in the second race Lupino rode a good weekend. Things were a little more difficult for Valentin though. He suffered today with the lack of time on the bike over the winter because of his injury. It was very physical, and it highlighted this fact in both races unfortunately. We know the potential is there for strong results and both riders can see the performance in the new bike, so the team will keep working hard to put all the new pieces together as we go through this season.”
